✨ How Banded Calcite Is Formed
Banded calcite forms over long periods of time as calcium-rich water flows through caves and rock cavities. As minerals settle and crystallise, they build up in layers. Changes in the environment — like mineral content, temperature and water flow — create the beautiful banding you see, with each layer marking a different chapter in the stone’s history.
Think of it as nature’s very slow, very patient layering project.
