Material & Formation
Rutile quartz forms when clear quartz crystallises around titanium dioxide inclusions, creating delicate, golden threads locked within the stone. Iron oxide minerals can also settle within the crystal during growth, adding soft amber or reddish tones. This process takes place over thousands to millions of years, deep within the Earth’s crust, where mineral-rich solutions cool slowly enough for each inclusion to form undisturbed.
