Geology & formation Crazy Lace Agate is a banded chalcedony from volcanic areas of northern Mexico. Silica-rich fluids filled old gas bubbles and cracks, laying down rhythmic bands layer by layer. Iron oxides add the reds/oranges/yellows; occasional vugs can show tiny druzy sparkle.
