These beautifully hand polished palm stones from Madagascar feature an incredible natural mixture of black, charcoal grey and soft blue-grey, creating bold patterns that can look almost smoky, stormy or abstract.

What is Mystic Merlinite?

Mystic Merlinite is a trade name most commonly used for a variety of Indigo Gabbro, an igneous rock found in Madagascar. Rather than being one individual mineral, it is made up of several minerals which create its distinctive contrasting light and dark patterns.

Gabbro forms when molten magma cools slowly beneath the Earth's surface, allowing its mineral crystals time to grow. Once polished, the different minerals become much more visible, producing the amazing mottled and sometimes almost metallic-looking patterns seen in these pieces.

The name Mystic Merlinite was given to the material commercially and is inspired by Merlin and ideas of magic and mysticism — it isn't its geological name.

Metaphysically, Mystic Merlinite is traditionally associated with intuition, transformation, inner wisdom and spiritual exploration. Its darker energy is also associated with grounding, making it popular with those who like crystals that combine a mystical feel with something a little more steady and earthy.
