Northern Lights Quartz is a brand-new find from Carnaúba dos Dantas, located in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. This remote area is already known for unique mineral formations, but this particular discovery has crystal lovers buzzing.
These stunning quartz pieces are formed in milky white quartz and are filled with colourful mineral inclusions. While still undergoing testing, the inclusions are believed to include Iron, Hematite, and possibly Malachite or Chrysocolla, giving the crystals their vibrant blue, green, orange, and red hues. Many also feature manganese dendrites, which look like delicate tree-like branches inside the stone.
The colour comes from natural mineral inclusions that formed as the quartz crystallised over thousands (or even millions) of years under intense heat and pressure. Each piece is like a frozen explosion of mineral colour, preserved in clear or cloudy quartz — like capturing the northern lights themselves inside stone.
Because this find is so new and only recently reached the market, very little has been officially documented, and the name Northern Lights Quartz is an unofficial trade name — but a fitting one!
These crystals are still being studied, but many find their energy to be bright, optimistic, and strengthening — ideal for new beginnings, courage, and creative inspiration.
