Rhodonite is a manganese silicate (MnSiO₃). The pink colour comes from manganese ions in the crystal structure. The black lines are surface-altered manganese oxides that fill natural fractures—think of them as nature’s ink marks formed during metamorphism in manganese-rich rocks.
